River Parishes Community College is excited to announce the groundbreaking for its new campus in Gonzales!

The groundbreaking will be on March 21 at the future home of RPCC’s new campus in the Edenborne Development off of Highway 44.

The first phase of construction, which includes an 81,000-square-foot facility for academic programming and administrative offices, has an expected completion date in the spring of 2014.  Upon completion, Phase 1 of construction will be the first time that RPCC will be housed in a building it owns.

Dr. Joe Ben Welch, RPCC Chancellor, expressed his excitement for the construction and the future.

“This building represents so much more than a bigger facility,” said Dr. Welch.  “It’s a symbol of the growth of the River Parishes and the opportunities present for members of the community.”

Phase 2 of construction will include the Advanced Technology Center for all technical programming.

Phase 1 of construction is publicly funded, and Phase 2 of construction will be funded through a combination of public and private sources.
