River Parishes Community College (RPCC) is now accepting applications for its Process Technology (PTEC) Express Pathway, an accelerated program designed for individuals with prior academic credit who are ready to fast-track their career in the process technology industry. Participants will complete the rigorous Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Process Technology in an accelerated timeframe, equipping them with the skills and credentials to pursue high-demand careers in the industry.
The PTEC Express Pathway is ideal for those with a strong academic background, military or industrial experience, and a desire to enter or advance in the growing field of process technology. Graduates of the program will join an elite group of professionals who play a vital role in industrial operations, with career opportunities in petrochemical plants, refineries, and other advanced manufacturing facilities.
Application Information
The application for the PTEC Express Pathway is now open, with priority consideration given to those who apply by March 1, 2025. Applications will be reviewed after this date, and accepted applicants will be notified by April 1, 2025.
To apply, prospective students must:
- Complete the online application at rpcc.edu/ptech-express.
- Submit a resume via the application portal.
- Submit official transcripts to the RPCC Registrar’s Office (if credits were not earned at RPCC).
Admission Criteria
To qualify for the PTEC Express Pathway, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Hold an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 for the most recent or highest degree earned.
- Successfully complete at least 8 credit hours of prerequisite coursework with a grade of “C” or better.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of all General Education and Required courses for the Process Technology AAS (26 credit hours).
- Military or industrial experience and mechanical aptitude.
- Possession of or application for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
