The mission of the RPCC Adult Education program is to engage, educate, and empower communities of adult learners by advancing literacy skills and employment opportunities to achieve a better quality of life.
All Adult Education services are FREE of charge. Day and Night Classes are available! Face-to-Face and Online Classes are available! Scholarships are also available to current and prior Adult Education students.
RPCC Adult Education Centers are available in Ascension, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and Iberville parishes; however, individuals living outside of these parishes may attend classes at any of our centers as well.
Programs
- High School Equivalency classes are designed for adults aiming to earn their high school diploma. They focus on strengthening key skills in reading, math, and English. These classes equip students with the foundational knowledge and competencies needed for success in both the exams and their future endeavors.
- ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are designed to help non-native English speakers learn and improve their English language skills. These classes cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English, focusing on building students' confidence and fluency.
- Community Education classes are designed to equip students for further education, workforce entry, and personal growth. Topics covered include digital literacy, financial literacy, health literacy, and job readiness skills.
- Accuplacer Prep courses provide targeted support to help individuals succeed on the English, Math, and Reading sections of the Accuplacer exam. These courses are designed to strengthen essential skills, build confidence, and enhance test performance.
-
Academic Tutoring supports both current RPCC students seeking to strengthen their English and Math skills and incoming RPCC students preparing for college-level English and Math. The goal is to provide personalized academic assistance to help students build a solid foundation, succeed in their coursework, and boost their confidence in these core subjects.
