We are dedicated to helping you earn your high school equivalency (HSE). The minimum age to enter the program is 16. RPCC offers three pathways to completing your HSE:
- HiSET exam (minors students are required to take this pathway)
- The HiSET exam is made up of five sections:
- Math
- Reading
- Science
- Social Studies
- Writing
- The HiSET exam is made up of five sections:

- Accuplacer (made up of three sections):
- English
- Math
- Reading

- Integrated Career Pathways
- This is a co-enrollment pathway where students are enrolled in Adult Education and technical program courses. Students get their HSE while also working on a technical certificate.
- Current Technical Program Offerings:
- Certificate of Technical Studies – A/C & Refrigeration: Domestic
- Certificate of Technical Studies – Business Administration
- Certificate of Technical Studies – Healthcare Access Specialist
- Certificate of Technical Studies – Instrumentation Helper
- Certificate of Technical Studies - Medical Assistant
- Certificate of Technical Studies – Welding
Note: All pathways are not offered at all campuses. This pathway does not require taking the HiSET or Accuplacer; however, minimum English, Math, and Reading learning levels are required.
Graduation:
All students that complete their HSE pathway are invited to participate in the annual River Parishes Community College graduation ceremony in May.
Enrollment Requirements:
- Valid photo ID
- Minors (ages 16 and 17) must have a completed and signed Waiver Request and Process for Exiting School form obtained from the last school district enrolled.
- All minors must commit to 20 hours of instruction per week, with 15 hours in person in the classroom.
- All minors must complete the HiSET high school equivalency pathway per Louisiana Community & Technical College System policy.
- If homeschooled, the annual homeschool approval letter (dated within the past 12 months) is required, indicating at least six months of homeschool enrollment has been reached.
