Your Mental Health Matters

At River Parishes Community College, we prioritize the mental well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we are committed to creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and understood.

Recognizing the Signs

It's essential to be aware of the signs that indicate someone may be struggling with their mental health. Look out for:

  • Changes in behavior or mood

  • Withdrawal from social activities

  • Declining academic performance

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Increased irritability or anxiety

If you notice these signs in yourself or someone else, taking action and seeking help is critical.

Available Resources

  • Counseling Services: Our dedicated professionals offer confidential counseling to help students navigate personal, academic, and emotional challenges. Book an appointment today to talk through your feelings in a safe space.

  • Peer Support Groups: Join a peer-led support group to connect with others who understand what you're going through. Sharing experiences can provide comfort and perspective.

  • Online Resources: Our dedicated online platform allows you to access articles, videos, and exercises focused on mental health and wellness. You can also learn coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and more.

Be A Friend

Sometimes, the best way to help is by being there for someone else. Reach out to friends and classmates. A simple conversation can go a long way. Encourage them to talk about their feelings and direct them to the resources available on campus.

Events and Workshops

Stay tuned to RPCC's social media channels for our upcoming mental health events and workshops to promote awareness and provide coping strategies. These events are a great way to learn more, ask questions, and connect with others.
