The Louisiana Leadership Academy (LLA) is a year-long, rigorous, and competency-based professional development experience that prepares individuals for key leadership roles in higher education institutions in Louisiana.
Each year, Chancellors across the LCTCS nominate employees to participate in LLA.
In 2021, RPCC was represented in LLA by Business Instructor, Eddie Bernier, and Academic Affairs Coordinator & Institutional Research Analyst, Shalini Sealey.
Both completed LLA in December 2021. When asked to share his experience, Eddie Bernier said, “While participating in LLA, I learned that we have a deep pool of talented people throughout the LCTCS System. Every college has an opportunity for faculty or staff to make a profound impact if they use their creative talents. I appreciate the assistance that I received from Erin Blake, Natasha Johnson, and Shalini Sealey, who provided advice during my impact project.”
Shalini Sealey also spoke of her experience, stating, “LLA has taught me the importance of truly listening and allowing each person to be heard. I learned to use my ‘Voice’ more and to manage my emotions better. My favorite part of LLA was getting to know colleagues from other schools, and spending a year learning with them and learning from them.”
Congratulations to Eddie and Shalini! Thank you both for all of the amazing things that you do for RPCC.
