Effective March 7th (From Chancellor, Dr. Jim Carlson)
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
I want to sincerely thank you for your diligence in compliance of mask wearing as we navigated through the height of the Omicron surge. Because of your dedication to the health and safety of yourselves and others, we have been fortunate to see little to no active cases in COVID-19 Omicron reporting. In addition to mask wearing, vaccinations, boosters, and testing have allowed individuals to better secure health and safety measures to protect themselves, their families, and others.
As a result, the RPCC mask requirement will no longer be in place effective Monday, March 7, 2022. While mask wearing is optional, it is extremely important that we all take necessary precautions such as continued enhanced campus cleaning, respect for the space of others, masking in densely populated areas, and not physically entering campus in the event of illness.
It is the expectation that students, faculty, and staff continue to report occurrences of illness related to fever, cough, sore throat, etc. to faculty and supervisors or any exposure to COVID-19 to HR and not report to class or work in the event of illness to ensure the health and safety of our campuses. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 exposures and positive cases in the College and if positive cases and/or exposures increase, masks may be required again as an additional safety precaution.
I want to again thank you all for your leadership, dedication, and support throughout the Pandemic to ensure the health and safety of others. As always, if anyone has questions or concerns regarding our path forward, please do not hesitate to reach out to your faculty or supervisor directly as we stand ready to listen and engage.
Sincerely,
