River Parishes Community College (RPCC) is expanding its workforce training programs with the launch of a new Instrumentation Concentration within its Electrical & Instrumentation associate degree program, beginning Fall 2025. Designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled technicians in industrial and energy sectors, the program will provide students with NCCER Instrumentation Levels 1-4 certifications and comprehensive hands-on training.
"Instrumentation technicians are in high demand across industries such as manufacturing, power generation, and oil & gas," said RPCC Dean of Energy Sciences Dr. Donovan Thompson. "This program equips students with the technical expertise and credentials needed for immediate employment and career advancement."
Students will gain expertise in process control systems, calibration techniques, industrial electronics, and smart instrumentation—critical skills for today’s high-tech industrial operations. The program is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work and are seeking a career with strong earning potential and growth opportunities.
Enrollment for the Instrumentation Concentration is now open for Fall 2025. Interested students can apply through RPCC Admissions or visit rpcc.edu for more information.
