River Parishes Community College (RPCC) continues to strengthen its commitment to hands-on, industry-aligned education through a growing partnership between its Process Technology (PTEC) department and leading employers in the River Region. Most recently, students had the opportunity to tour the innovative Skyfall Biologicals facility, gaining valuable insight into sustainable chemical manufacturing and green chemistry practices.
Skyfall Biologicals is known for its cutting-edge work in producing eco-friendly chemical solutions, including specialized crop storage chemicals and natural insect repellents derived from catmint oil. The company is helping shape the future of agriculture through green innovation—making it an ideal learning destination for RPCC students preparing for high-demand, high-wage careers in process technology.
PTEC students were enthusiastic about the experience, sharing their appreciation for the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications:
“The futuristic facility was amazing! Definitely recommend other students take this opportunity.” – RPCC PTEC Student
“It was incredibly valuable having a host who understood our coursework and could relate it directly to real-world applications.” – RPCC PTEC Student
During the visit, students were guided by a knowledgeable team of professionals who provided an in-depth look at plant operations and how their studies translate to real-world practices. RPCC extends special thanks to the Skyfall Biologicals team for their time, expertise, and dedication to workforce development:
- Charlie Freeburgh, Site Manager
