Our campuses across the Parish area provide various credited coursework that leads to short-term certificates, technical diplomas, and associate degrees. Our Louisiana Transfer Degree Program helps create a smooth transition for learners planning on pursuing further education. Completing the first 60 hours of coursework at a two-year community college helps graduates enter a four-year public university as juniors, with full credit transfer. Many courses help you earn industry-recognized certifications, empowering you to stand out in competitive industries, including healthcare, information technology (IT), and welding. We partner with global corporations to ensure all training courses cover relevant information and match performance goals to maximize learners’ career opportunities.
We proudly offer Adult Education programs to engage, educate, and empower individuals looking to advance their lives. Each adult program is free with flexible day and night courses, in-person and online, to make education accessible to everyone. Scholarships are also available for current and previous adult learners who want to continue their education beyond our adult education courses. Discover more about what programs we offer, including:
- High School Equivalency Courses – Designed for adults looking to earn their high school diploma, focusing on improving reading, math, and English skills.
- English as a Second Language (ESL) – Tailored to adults with limited English proficiency and understanding to increase their English fluency.
- Reading Intervention—An evidence-based program for adults with low reading comprehension. Learners must pass these reading courses at a sixth-grade or higher level before moving to equivalency courses.
- Community Education – Short courses cover various topics, such as job readiness, digital literacy, and health or financial literacy, designed to prepare learners for employment or further education.
- Accuplacer Prep – This preparation program focuses on English, Math, and Reading for the Accuplacer test.
- Academic Tutoring—Current and incoming RPCC learners can participate in tutoring to enhance their English and math skills and ensure they are ready for college-level courses.
Applying to any of our programs at any of our campuses in Reserve, Boutte, Plaquemine, and Gonzales, LA, is a straightforward process accessible to all learners looking to take the next step toward their educational goals. When you follow each simple step to complete your application and submit any supportive documentation, you become one step closer to enrolling in our programs and furthering your education:
- Complete the Online Application – Follow the link to our online application form and complete all the required information. Ensure all the information is correct and completed.
- Immunization Compliance—After you submit your application, you will gain access to the Immunization Compliance Form. Complete and submit it with your application or provide an Immunization Waiver if applicable.
- Selective Service Verification – If you are a male between 18 and 25, you must also submit your Selective Service Verification.
- Gather Additional Documents – Collect any recommended documents to support your application. This includes official copies of high school and college transcripts as well as any relevant test scores.
- Submitting Supporting Documents – Mail your additional documents to our admissions office to help provide us with a clearer picture of your previous academic accomplishments.
- Confirmation and Next Steps – After you have submitted your application online and mailed in any supporting documents, please wait for a confirmation from the admissions office. We will provide you with information on the next steps, including enrollment options and orientation details.
The M.J. Foster Promise Program offers financial support to learners 20 years and older in Louisiana who want to pursue higher education in high-demand career paths. These learners, currently enrolled or planning to enroll in accredited institutions like River Parishes Community College, located in Reverse, Boutte, Plaquemine, and Gonzales, LA can apply for this scholarship to help eliminate financial barriers and empower learners to gain valuable qualifications for thriving industries.
