The Office of Student Services is dedicated to service excellence in the provision of comprehensive and flexible accommodation plans that contribute to the successful academic endeavors of qualified students who have disabilities. The Accessibility Services Coordinator works with RPCC faculty and staff to further the understanding of the needs of the students being served.

Eligibility for Services

Students with either permanent or temporary disabilities are eligible. Decisions regarding the alignment of specific program requirements and the exact accommodations to be provided are made on an individualized basis by the Accessibility Services Coordinator in consultation with the student. Student’s applying for services are responsible for providing the specified documentation before any services will be provided.

Note: Accommodations are effective after the documentation has been reviewed and approved by the Accessibility Services Coordinator. Accommodations are not retroactive. Also, documentation required may not be sufficient at other universities or testing agencies. For more detailed information, please see the Handbook.

Voter Registration Assistance

Under the State of Louisiana Voter Registration Agency and the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, the Office of Accessibility Services is mandated to provide public assistance to persons with disabilities. The Accessibility Services Coordinator will assist students with completing and submitting the Louisiana Voter Registration Application and Voter Declaration Form on an ongoing basis and during authorized voter registration periods.
