Apply for Financial Aid

Step 1: To apply for federal and state financial aid, you will need to fill out an application called the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order to complete the FAFSA, you and your parent (if applicable) will need to set up a Federal Student Aid ID. This will permit you to sign your FAFSA electronically.

1. Complete the entire application (enter “0” if not applicable).
2. Enter RPCC’s school code 037894 in “School Selection”.
3. Sign the application with your FSA ID (and your parents, if dependent).
4. Submit application.
5. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from FAFSA.

*Please allow 5-7 business days after the receipt of e-mail from FAFSA for RPCC to retrieve your information.

Step 2: Once RPCC receives your FAFSA, we will send you an email regarding any follow up paperwork that is needed to determine your eligibility.

Step 3: The U.S. Department of Education randomly selects a percentage of FAFSAs for a process called verification. Verification is a process where the FAFSA is audited with the student’s and parents’ financial and household information. Inceptia is the company that RPCC has chosen to complete verification for our students. If you are selected for verification, you will be contacted via email by Inceptia. The verification process through Inceptia is 100% online. *Submit all verification documents to Inceptia as requested.

Step 4: Log in to your LoLA account to check the status of your financial aid/awards.

1. Check your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status in LoLA.
2. If you are selected for verification, additional documents will be listed in LoLA as unsatisfied requirements.
3. When your application is completely processed, your award information will be available in LOLA within 5-7 business days.
4. Students may accept, reduce, or decline financial aid offers in LoLA.

Transfer Students: If you have already completed a FAFSA for your present school, log back onto that FAFSA, add RPCC’s school code (037894), sign with your FSA ID and submit.

**All students are encouraged to log on to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) using his/her Federal Student Aid PIN and view Pell grant and/or student loan usage.

Online Student Access to Financial Aid

1. Go to RPCC’s website.
2. Click Quick Links
3. Click on LoLA
4. Enter your “User Name” and “Password” in the empty blocks provided, and click Login.
5. Click on the words Check Financial Aid “River Parish Community College” above the “Self Service Banner” block.
6. Click on “River Parishes Community College” under the section entitled “Financial Aid Links”.
7. Select the appropriate award year at the top of the page
8. Select the tab containing the information you would like to view (such as requirements, satisfactory academic progress, award offer etc).

To accept Award:

1. Go to RPCC’s website.
2. Click on "Quick Links"
3. Click on LoLA: Log On Louisiana 
4.  Enter your “User Name” and “Password” in the empty blocks provided, and click Login.
5. Click on the words "Check Financial Aid @ River Parish Community College”.
6. Select the appropriate award year at the top of the page
7. Select Award Offer tab and scroll down to locate your award
8. Select accept, decline or modify (specifying the amount) next to the award, then click submit.
9. Review the 1st tab to verify no additional requirements are needed.
10. Review Satisfactory Academic Progress tab to confirm eligibility.
